Welcome Coach Glasgow!

Coach Glasgow was raised in SE Portland and has lived in the area most of his life. A Cleveland graduate of the class of 2007, he was a three year varsity letterman in basketball, 2-time all-PIL performer, Most Improved Player as a sophomore, and twice a varsity captain and recipient of the Royal “C” award. Upon graduation he received a scholarship to play basketball at Division II Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA. After finishing up his schooling at Portland State University he was introduced to then-CHS head coach Don Emry. Emry brought Coach Glasgow onto his coaching staff and he will be forever grateful to Emry for giving him that opportunity. After four seasons in a variety of roles at Cleveland, he hopped on the coaching staff at Beaverton High School. This gave Coach Glasgow a glimpse of Oregon high school hoops outside of the PIL and he believes this experience allowed him to become a more well-rounded coach. He spent four seasons at Beaverton as well. This past season he was the varsity assistant at Benson High School. Currently, he is heading into his fourth year of teaching and is the PE teacher in the Fit 2 Live & Learn program at Benson. He still live in SE Portland with his partner who is also a teacher-coach. They spend most of their time chasing around their two giant dogs, hiking, trying new restaurants/food carts, and focusing on making the programs they are a part of better for everyone involved.

“Working with young people and helping them towards becoming the best versions of themselves is a passion of mine and I am ecstatic that I am able to do so as an educator and a basketball coach at the school I graduated from. I believe in helping student-athletes grow as people, students, and players on and off the court. Team sports are such a great venue to learn life skills, and the five that this program will focus the most on are: humility, accountability, integrity, leadership, and gratitude. I will be sharing much more of my coaching philosophy and who I am going forward.” - Coach Glasgow
